Last week we had our once a semester Interdisciplinary project week. This year around theme "mobility" our group created installation settings "Invisible Barries", which include 4 scenes that represents how depression as the core of most immobility can build an invisible barriers from the world.

A bag of rocks representing the physical weight of the depression people may feeling. Rocks all made by ceramic and engraved with common negative thoughts people may have in life. The fish net bag represent the fragile when it holding such weight it is really on the edge of breaking.

Blowed glass clock with ceramic chain represent when people suffering from depression, time doesn't mean anything, it can be a constraint that limiting people's communication with the world.

The foggy mirror shows the vision of how people viewing themselves when suffering from depression. They may not view themselves clearly, there may be other thing blocking their view so they cannot see themselves thus find the problem.

At the end, the ladder with rubbers as runnings represent after everything when people want to get out of the depression, the ladder seems like the one way can take them over, but the rubber make it almost impossible to climb on. That's the deepest depression. However, because rubber still have the tenacity, people who really have the determination and work hard enough can still climb it. That's the hope we wanna leaving to people who's depressed.

Attached link are some describtions of how people suffer from depression feels, which is a big part of where our inspiration from.
